Dan (Daan) Jacobus Sigfried de Lange ( Dutch: Daan Jacobus Siegfried de Lange , August 4, 1915 - May 29, 1988 , Hamar ) - Norwegian chess player of Dutch origin. Norwegian champion 1960. As part of the Norwegian team, a participant in four chess Olympiads .

Biography

Born in the Netherlands . In his youth, he was professionally involved in football; for some time he played in Ajax . He also studied music. During the German occupation he lived in England . He served in the music division of the American army . After the war he returned to the Netherlands. In the mid 1950s moved to Norway . He lived in Stavanger , then in Hamar . Earned playing the piano . For two decades, he was among the strongest chess players in Norway.
