Biography
In 1963 he graduated from the Energy Department of the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute (TPI, now TPU) with a degree in High Voltage Engineering.
In 1968 he graduated from the graduate school of TPI .
In 1972-1977 he worked at TPI as a senior researcher .
In February 1977, he was invited to work at Tomsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (TGASU) .
In 1977-1984 and 1987-2003, he was an assistant professor at the Department of Building Materials and Technologies of TGASU , in 1984-1987 he headed this department.
Since April 2003 - Professor of the Department of Building Materials and Technologies of TGASU .
Since 2002 - Member of the TPU Academic Council for the defense of candidate dissertations .
Academic Work
For the first time in Russia, he developed programs and read the disciplines “Electropulse technologies in the production of building materials”, “Electrophysical technologies in the production of reinforced concrete ”, “Electrophysical technologies in the production of road-building materials” in the preparation of graduates and advanced training of personnel in the road and bridge industry. He gave lectures on the subject "Fundamentals of technologies for the production of road-building materials" and " Physical chemistry in road materials science."
For the first time in Russia he published a textbook "Electrophysical Technologies for Activation of Building Materials".
In total, 26 educational and methodological guidelines for laboratory work on lecture courses that were taught were published.
Scientific work
- 1978 - opening of the scientific branch laboratory of the Minavtodor of the RSFSR .
- 1980 - the opening of the scientific problem laboratory of enriched and activated aggregates of the Ministry of Higher Education of the RSFSR .
- 1984 - the opening of state budget financing for radiation-chemical technology of the Ministry of Higher Education of the RSFSR .
- 1980-1987 - the creation of a research institute for building materials and leadership on a voluntary basis (in 1988, the research institute received the status of a state budget).
- 1980 - the opening of the scientific problem laboratory of enriched and activated aggregates of the Ministry of Higher Education of the RSFSR .
The main scientific interests of V. N. Safronov were related to the development of physical foundations, engineering and technology of electrophysical methods of activation of building materials for various purposes.
He is the winner of two Grants (1999-2000; 2003-2004) for the implementation of basic research in the field of technical sciences of the program "Architecture and Building Sciences" of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation .
The total number of published scientific papers is 270, including 93 inventions and 5 publications abroad.
He was the editor of the published collection of scientific papers "Creation and research of new building materials" (1986).

He died after a long illness on August 22, 2017.
