Maxim Saakovich Martirosyan (born November 9, 1931 , Yerevan ) - ballet dancer , teacher and choreographer, artist of the Opera and Ballet Theater Spendiarova (since 1952), choreographer of the troupe in 1967-1971 and 1987-1989; artistic director of Yerevan (1959-1971) and Moscow (1971-1987) choreographic schools. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1973).

Biography
Born in Yerevan in 1931 . In 1941-1950 he studied at the Yerevan Choreographic School , then in 1950-1952 he studied at the Moscow Choreographic School as a teacher, Alexander Rudenko . After graduating from 1952 - artist of the Yerevan Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. A. Spendiarov . At the same time as an artistic career, since 1952 he taught at the Yerevan Choreographic School. In 1959-1971 he was his artistic director. In parallel, in 1967-1971 he was the choreographer of the Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. A. Spendiarov.
In 1971 he was appointed artistic director of the Moscow Academic Choreographic School . He worked in Moscow until 1987, after which he returned to Yerevan.
In 1987-1989 he was a choreographer at the A. A. Spendiarov Opera and Ballet Theater, and since 1989 he has been the main consultant to the Yerevan Choreographic School.
In 1992 he worked in Canada, staged a concert program for the ensemble "Chirac". In 1997, with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia, he created the “State Choreography Theater” in Yerevan.
In 2002, he staged the play “Holy Hripsime and Trdat” at the Yerevan Opera and Ballet Theater, dedicated to the 1700th anniversary of the adoption of Christianity in Armenia . He wrote the original libretto for the performances “Violin Concert” (on the 100th anniversary of the birth of Aram Khachaturian ) and “Tales of Narekatsi” (on the 1000th anniversary of the death of Grigor Narekatsi ), which premiered at the Yerevan Opera and Ballet Theater in late 2003 of the year.
