Biography
Voski Zakharovna Simonyan was born in 1918 in the village of Areni of the First Republic of Armenia (now in the Vayots Dzor region of the Republic of Armenia ) in a poor family of a rural worker [2] .
In 1934, Voski Simonyan went to work at the Kalinin collective farm of the Keshishkandinsky District of the Armenian SSR (since 1935 - the Mikoyanovsky District, since 1957 - the Yeghegnadzorsky District). Having shown his abilities from the best side, in 1938 Simonyan was appointed a link of the tobacco-growing collective of the collective farm. Under the leadership of Simonyan, the link managed to improve the quality of growing tobacco plantations and increase the yield of this crop . The link approved new plans in order to produce 20 centners of tobacco harvest per hectare . Under the leadership of Simonyan, the collective farmers grew a large number of seedlings and planted more than 100,000 plants on each hectare. As a result of effective control of weeds , the timely implementation of such agrotechnical measures as loosening of plantations, the use of fertilizers , the harvesting and drying of the crop, the link has achieved high results. By 1949, 24.5 centners of the Samsun tobacco crop was received from each hectare in the total area of 3 hectares [2] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 17, 1950 for obtaining high yields of tobacco when the collective farms fulfill mandatory deliveries and contracts for all types of agricultural products, payment in kind for the work of MTS in 1949 and the provision of seeds for all crops in the amount of the total demand for spring seva in 1950 Waxes Zakharovna Simonyan was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle gold medal [3] .
Subsequently, the Voski Simonyan link continued to receive high yields of tobacco, for which the link team Simonyan was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor . Since 1957, Simonyan worked as a milkmaid in a cow farm of the Kalinin collective farm in the Yeghegnadzor region of the Armenian SSR [4] .
