Cherfas, Valentin Ivanovich

Born in Yuzovka (Donetsk). In 1938 he entered the Barnaul Artillery School. Since 1941 - in the Red Army. Member of World War II. Lieutenant Cherfas was wounded on Kursk. After demobilization, he headed the Simferopol sewing factory and Theodosia hosiery factory. In 1950 he graduated from the Kiev Institute of Light Industry. From 1955 to 1957 he headed the collective farm “The Way to Communism” in the Krasnogvardeisky district. In 1957 he was elected chairman of the Krupskaya collective farm. During his chairmanship, the collective farm began to occupy advanced positions. In 1976 he became a Hero of Socialist Labor. He was a member of the Union Council of collective farms. He was elected a delegate to the 25th Congress of the CPSU. In March 1985, he had a car accident. March 26, died in a hospital in Simferopol.
