Pannonia. Anarti in the upper right corner.

Anarts (Anarti) or Anartii (Anartii) or Anartoi (Anartoi) is a Celtic tribe that, according to Ptolemy , lived in Dacia (north-western territories of modern Romania ), west of the Tevris and Kostoboks . Anartov, together with the Dacians , Caesar called the inhabitants of the edge of the Herzen Forest. Anartes were probably part of the Bastarn Celtic tribe. Some groups of Anarts occupied part of modern Slovakia and southeastern Poland . Around 172 they refused to support the Romans in their war with the Marcoman . In punishment for this, Marcus Aurelius relocated them to the Roman province of Lower Pannonia.
