Elections of deputies of the Duma of the Chukotka Autonomous Region of the sixth convocation took place in the Chukotka Autonomous District on September 18, 2016 on a single day of voting , simultaneously with elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation . Elections were held by a mixed electoral system : out of 15 deputies, 9 were elected according to party lists ( proportional system ), the other 6 - in three-member constituencies ( majority system ). To get into the Duma through the proportional system, the parties must overcome the 5% barrier . The term of office of deputies is five years.
