Route

The Tour de France 2019 route was presented on October 25, 2018 in Paris [3] . It included 21 stages with a total length of 3480.3 kilometers laid across the territory of France , as well as Belgium . The Grand Depar took place in the capital of Belgium, Brussels , which was timed to coincide with the centenary of the appearance on the Big Loop of the yellow jersey of the leader and the fiftieth anniversary of the first victory on the Tour of her five-time triumphant Belgian Eddie Merck [4] [5] . The race will finish traditionally on the Champs Elysees in Paris .

For the first time in the history of the competition, the finishes of the three stages were located at altitudes above 2100 m above sea level. According to race director Christian Prudum, riders had to drive the most mountainous Tour de France in history. The second stage was held in the format of a team race with a separate start, and the 13th - individual [6] .
