Karl Yakovlevich Tenison (01.18.1897, Muenskaya parish, Volmarsky uezd , Livland province - 10.9.1938, Moscow ) - Leader of the State Security Committee / NKVD of the USSR, major of state security , Commissar of Internal Affairs of the Karelian ASSR . Biography
Karl Yakovlevich Tenison was born on January 18, 1897 in Muensky parish, Volmarsky district, Livonia province. In the years 1916-1918 przyvalsya in the Russian army. Member of the RSDLP (b) since 1917. In 1918-1920 he served in the Volmar police and the registration department of the Headquarters of the 15th Army. Further activities were related to work in the bodies of the Cheka-OGPU-NKVD.
- 1920-1923 - in the Special Division of the Cheka of the 15th, 16th Army, 17th Rifle Division, in the 6th border detachment of the Cheka and the GPU.
- 1923-1924 - Head of the Vitebsk State Political Department of the GPU.
- 1924-1928 - Commissioner of the Smolensk State Department of the GPU for Gzhatsky, Vyazemsky Uyezd, head of the Special Department of the GPU of the 29th Rifle Division.
- 1928-1933 - Head of the Special Section of the GPU of the 4th Infantry Corps, Head of the Special Section of the GPU of the 27th Infantry Division, Head of the Mozyr Operational Sector of the GPU, Head of the Special Section of the GPU of the 3rd Infantry Division.
- 1933-1935 - Head of the Gomel Operational Sector of the GPU — NKVD, Head of the Workers 'and Peasants' Militia of the NKVD of the Byelorussian SSR, Assistant Commissar of Internal Affairs of the Byelorussian SSR for Militia in the East Siberian region.
- 1935-1938 - Head of the NKVD Administration for the Autonomous Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, People's Commissar of Internal Affairs of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. This period was marked by the entry into the special troika , created by order of the NKVD of the USSR of 30.07.1937 No. 00447 [2] and active participation in the Stalinist repressions [3] .

The final stage
He was arrested on April 28, 1938. He died during the investigation on September 10, 1938 in the hospital of Butyrskaya prison .
