Biography

Born in deportation to Kazakhstan. Since 1967 he worked in the system of consumer cooperation, then he served in the army. He graduated from Chechen-Ingush State University , then graduate school of the Institute of History of the USSR Academy of Sciences of the USSR . Candidate of historical sciences .

In 1978-1993 he worked as a teacher at the Chechen-Ingush State University. In 1990, he was elected People's Deputy of Chechen-Ingushetia. Until 1991, he was chairman of the standing commission on national politics and interethnic relations of the Supreme Council of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . Since 1991, after the rise to power of Dzhokhar Dudaev , he led the anti-Dudaev opposition.

In 1993-1994 he studied at the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation. In 1995-1996 he was the first deputy chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic in the government of Doku Zavgaev . In July 1996, he was elected to the People’s Assembly of the Chechen Republic from the Shatoi region .

After the fall of the government, Zavgaev was forced to move to Moscow. In 1996-2000 he worked in one of the firms in Moscow. From June 2000 to February 2001 he was First Deputy Head of the Administration of the Chechen Republic in the government of Akhmat Kadyrov .

Then he was an employee of the office of the plenipotentiary of the President in the Southern Federal District , was the chief federal inspector and adviser to the presidential envoy. In 2003, he nominated himself as president of Chechnya . In the elections held on October 5, he scored 5.8% of the vote and took second place among candidates. For the president-elect A. Kadyrov, 80.84% ​​of voters voted.

In 2004, he again nominated himself as president of Chechnya . This time, Alu Alkhanov was elected president [1] .

He is the chairman of the board of the Small Business Support Fund of the Chechen Republic. Member of the United Russia Party.
