Golodnov, Alexey Vasilyevich

Born into a peasant family. In the family, besides Alexei, there were 8 more children. In 1933, fleeing from hunger, the family moved to the Ivanovo region , near Kineshma . Finished 8 classes.

In 1943 , assigning himself a year, he volunteered for the army . He was sent to the mine-machine-gun school, but did not even manage to finish an accelerated course. Private cadets were sent into battle at the Kursk Bulge .

Since the summer of 1943, the machine gunner Golodnov was at the front, in the 234th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 76th Guards Rifle Division of the 61st Army of the Central Front . Freed the city of Eagle , distinguished himself in battles while crossing the Dnieper .

On September 28, 1943 an assault group of 10 people was supposed to cross the Dnieper near the village of Mysy, Chernihiv region . The crossing took place under heavy enemy fire. The group, in addition to Golodnova, also included Georgy Maslyakov , Akan Kurmanov , Vasily Rusakov , Ivan Bolodurin , Heinrich Gendreus , Arseny Matyuk , Ivan Zulin , Peter Safonov . In a battle on the bridgehead seized by them, Alexey personally destroyed about 25 Nazis from his machine gun. The fighters seized a gun and a machine gun from the enemy, but they themselves were surrounded. Firing from their own and captured weapons, using grenades, they repulsed several fascist attacks. Half of the fighters of the group died.

Distracting the enemy forces, the paratroopers ensured the crossing of the main forces of the regiment. For this fight, all nine were presented to the title of Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously. Funerals were sent.

Golodnov was alive, he was found in a dilapidated trench with a grenade in his hand, unconscious, very contused . Nearby lay a blown up German cannon, and around up to 50 fascist corpses, the bodies of two dead comrades. Unrecognized was sent to hospital. After recovery, he returned to the front. He was wounded again. I went to the hospital in my city, in Zavolzhsk . Only here did the mother know that her son was alive.

He fought on the Central and First Baltic Fronts . In the spring of 1944 Golodnov was sent to a military school. Participated in the Victory Parade on June 24, 1945.

Member of the CPSU since 1949.

After the war, Golodnov became an officer, a sailor. In 1946, Alexey graduated from the Higher Engineering and Technical School , and then, in 1957, the 2nd Maritime Military-Political School. In 1972, Colonel Golodnov was dismissed. He lived in the hero-city of Kiev .
