Biography
Mikhail Vasilyevich Zakharov was born in 1907. In 1935 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals and Gold . After working at an aviation factory, he entered postgraduate studies in 1937. In 1940 he defended his thesis, in 1952 - his doctoral thesis.
In 1941 - 1946 He worked as an assistant professor at the Moscow Aviation Technology Institute. From 1952 until his retirement, he was a professor at the Department of Metal Science, first at the Moscow Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals and Gold, and later at the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys .
Scientific and teaching activities
Sphere of scientific interests M.V. Zakharova had general questions of hardening heat treatment, the development of aluminum alloys for various purposes, but his main scientific achievements were connected with the creation of the foundations of alloying heat-resistant copper alloys.
In the 50-60s of the XX century M.V. Zakharov conducted work on the construction of heat resistance diagrams - the composition of alloys for systems of different types based on copper. Under his leadership, heat-resistant and at the same time heat-conducting low-alloyed copper alloys for rocketry, as well as a group of heat-resistant electrically conductive copper alloys for electrodes of contact welding machines, were developed.
Mv Zakharov co-author (together with VD Turkin and MV Rumyantsev) of the textbook “State diagrams of binary and ternary systems” (1940), “Triple and quaternary systems” (1948), “Heat treatment of metals and alloys” (1962), "High-temperature alloys" (1972).
