Biography
Roger Gesneri was born on February 7, 1943 in France [2] .
He successfully graduated from the Polytechnic School in Paris in 1964, then the National School of Bridges and Roads in 1967. In 1967 he also graduated from the Institute for Political Studies (Paris) . In 1982 he was awarded a doctorate ( Ph.D. ) in economics at the University of Toulouse 1 [2] .
He began his career as a research fellow at the Center for Research and Applied Mathematics in Planning (CERMAP) in 1967-1969, then a research fellow at the Center for Advanced Research in Applied Mathematical Economics in Planning (CEPREMAP) in 1969-1981 [2] .
He began his teaching career as a teacher, then as a professor at the National School of Bridges and Roads in 1970-1983. He was a teacher at the Polytechnic School in Paris in 1974-1986 and a teacher at the Institute for Political Studies in Paris in 1975-1978. He was a visiting professor at the University of Western Paris - Nanterre-la-Défense in 1972-1973, and a teacher at the University of Paris-Dauphin in 1974-1976. In 1978, he became a professor at the (ENSAE), where he taught in 1978-1984. He also taught at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1990-1994 [2] .
At the same time, he was a researcher in 1976-1978, director of research in 1978-1986, director of first-class research in 1986-1996, director of extra-class research in 1996-2000 at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). He was a visiting professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1986, at the University of Pennsylvania in 1980, at in 1978, at Harvard University in 1974 and in 1979, at the Center for Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE) in 1971. He was a visiting professor at the University of California in 1993, and at the Center for Economic Research in 1993 [2] .
Roger Gesneri is currently Director of Research at the Higher School of Social Sciences in France (EHESS) since 1979, and professor of economic theory and social organizations at the College de France since 2000 [2] .
He was co-editor of the journal Econometrica in 1984-1989, a member of the editorial board of the journals in 1980-1984, the in 1981-1993, "in 1981-1984," "in 1991-1995. He was vice president in 1994-1995 and president of the Econometric Society in 1996, president of in 2002-2003, member of the board in 1989-1992, vice president in 1992, elected president in 1993 year, the president in 1994 of the , the president of the Association of Applied Econometrics in 1997-2001 [2] .
Roger Gesneri has been a member of the editorial board of the since 1997, the since 1998, a member of the Econometric Society since 1982, and a foreign honorary member of the American Economic Association since 1997, foreign honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 2000, honorary doctor ( Honoris Causa ) at the since 2001 [2] .
