Biography
Born in the village of Danilovka, Petrovsky district, Saratov province of the Russian Empire (now Lopatinsky district, Penza region ). The scientist’s life path was determined from childhood, spent at the experimental agricultural station, which was led by his father.
In 1938, Grigory Gulyaev graduated from the Moscow Agricultural Academy. K.A. Timiryazev .
In the prewar years, he worked as a researcher at the Chakinsk State Breeding Station in the Tambov Region .
Member of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 , at the front since July 1941 . He served as an assistant chief of staff for intelligence in the 542nd Roslavl mortar regiment, who fought in the 10th army of the Western Front . Captain
In 1946, he was appointed director of the Petrovsky State Breeding Station in the Penza Region, where work was carried out important for the restoration of agriculture in the country to regionalize and develop new varieties of potatoes, winter wheat, millet, oats, radishes, and sunflower.
In 1955, he became rector of the Penza Agricultural Institute , founded in 1951, during the leadership of which he made a great contribution to the development of the university and improving the quality of training of specialists [1] .
In 1964 he received the doctorate in agricultural sciences and the title of professor .
In 1965, he served as head of the Main Directorate of Agricultural Science and Propaganda of the Ministry of Agriculture of the RSFSR .
In 1966 - 1973 he headed the department of genetics, selection and seed production of field crops at the K.A. Timiryazev All-Union Agricultural Academy.
He worked in the laboratory of seed production of the Research Institute of Agriculture of the Central regions of the Non-Chernozem zone . In 1970 he was appointed director of the research institute. Grigory Vladimirovich subsequently wrote about his activities in this post: [2]

In 1986, he was elected a full member of the V. I. Lenin All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences .
Under the guidance of G.V. Gulyaev, the scientific foundations of the specialized production of seeds of grain , oilseeds and herbs have been developed.
The author of 365 published scientific papers and textbooks in the field of genetics and breeding of cultivated plants.
He died on February 3, 2003 after a serious long illness.
