Businessman Roy has a sick son, Jack, who cannot be cured by private doctors. The father goes to Princeton-Plainborough Clinic to record his son for the best diagnostician, Dr. House. Symptoms of a boy: abdominal pain , fever, dehydration , diarrhea , weight loss. House starts a new medical history. On a new X-ray, Cameron notices constipation, absent in the early pictures. House believes that the patient has Hirschsprung's disease . The team does a barium enema and a biopsy of the colon. The boy feels better, but soon he begins to have convulsions, paralysis of the rectus muscle of the eye, and intracranial pressure is greatly increased.
Chase conducts trepanation, according to the pictures, the team understands that in the abdominal cavity, as in the brain, fluid begins to accumulate. The team inserts shunts and realizes that the boy has brain cancer. House orders a biopsy of the meninges, but it does not confirm brain cancer. House believes that the boy has adenocarcinoma of the stomach and orders an endoscopy to be done, but Jack has a second attack.
Cameron thinks he has abdominal epilepsy and the team is starting treatment. However, the analysis does not confirm Cameron's version, and the boy has vesicles on his chest. Chase thinks that Jack has periarteritis nodosa , but House finds out that the vesicles also appeared on the penis, so he believes that the diagnosis is Dego's disease. House reports the news to Roy and says that the boy will live no more than a day.
Roy believes that because of karma he has a lot of money, but a sick son. Therefore, he abandons his savings, companies, home. Soon Jack has a cardiac arrest, the team brings him back to life, but his condition worsens significantly. In a conversation with Wilson, House realizes that the patient has a primary antiphospholipid syndrome. The team begins treatment and the boy recovers.
