Geography

The village is located on the banks of the Soima River, 20 km east of the center of the settlement of the village of Golovino and 8 km northwest of the district center of Sudogda near the 17R-1 Vladimir-Murom-Arzamas highway.

History

At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, the village was part of the Danilov parish of Sudogodsky Uyezd , and since 1926, it was part of the Sudogod volost of Vladimirsky Uyezd . In 1859 [2] there were 35 yards in the village, in 1905 [3] - 63 yards, in 1926 [4] - 69 households and an elementary school (opened in 1907).

Since 1929, the village was the center of the Soymensky village council of Sudogodsky district , since 2005 - as part of the Golovinsky rural settlement .

Infrastructure

In the village there are the Soymenskaya secondary school [9] , a kindergarten, a feldsher-midwife station, a rural house of culture, a federal postal service [10]
