Biography
Born in 1810, came from the nobility of the Novgorod province .
He was educated in the 1st Cadet Corps , from which he was released on June 25, 1827 by an ensign in the Life Guards Finnish Regiment . During the Turkish war of 1828-1829. was on a campaign in European Turkey and participated in the siege of the fortress of Varna , where he was wounded by a bullet in the forearm of his right hand; For the difference in this case received the Order of St.. Anna 3rd degree with swords and bow.
In 1832 he was promoted to lieutenant, in 1834-1837. was at the headquarters of the 1st Infantry Corps; in 1838, he was appointed Senior Adjutant under the commander of a separate Caucasian Corps General from Infantry Golovin . Arriving in the Caucasus , Zalivkin immediately got into a combat situation. Frequent expeditions undertaken inland were commonplace in the Caucasian service and gave a wide scope for the development and application of military capabilities. For six years (1838–44), Zalivkin participated in five campaigns. In 1841, for distinction in battles with the mountaineers, he was promoted to colonel with the appointment of the commander of the Erivan carabinier regiment . Then he joined the Sevastopol garrison and was one of the prominent participants in the defense of the city , commanding the land forces of the Ship's side for nine months. From March 28, 1857 he held the position of assistant to the chief of the 17th infantry division. In 1863 he was promoted to lieutenant general and, due to his upset health, he was dismissed from service. Died in 1875
