He was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR of the 5th (1959-1963), 6th (1963-1967) and 7th (1967-1971) convocations.
Biography
Born in the village of Kutsovka, Matusievsky volost, Cherkasy district, Kiev province of the Russian Empire (now - Smelyansky district, Cherkasy region). Ukrainian . He graduated from the 5th grade of the school.
In 1937, drafted into the ranks of the Red Army . In 1940 he graduated from the Advanced Training Courses for the reserve command staff in Belokorovichi ( Belarus ).
Member of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941. In August 1941, the platoon commander of the 32nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 32nd Panzer Division of the 4th Mechanized Corps of the 6th Army of the South-Western Front, Junior Lieutenant Y. K. Vovk was surrounded, [3] was in occupation. Re-drafted into the ranks of the Red Army by the Smelyansk RVK in February 1944. He fought on the 2nd and 1st Ukrainian fronts as a Red Army soldier , chemist of the chemical defense platoon of the 248th Infantry Regiment of the 31st Infantry Division of the 52nd Army . [four]
In the post-war period - a combine operator of the Signevskaya MTS, subsequently - a combine harvester of the collective farm named after Petrovsky Shpolyansky district of Cherkasy region.
Rewards
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 26, 1958 , Vovk Yakov Kononovich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Hammer and Sickle Medal .
He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree (03/11/1985) and medals, including "For Military Merit" (05/19/1945).
