Biography

Alexey Methododievich Overchuk was born on March 9, 1924 in the village of Skibin (now Zhashkovsky district , Cherkasy region of Ukraine ) into a peasant family.

Drafted into the Red Army in 1942. Private Overchuk has been at the front since March 1943. He fought on the Central , 1st Belorussian and 2nd Belorussian fronts .

In June-July 1944, he was a cadet of the army courses of junior lieutenants of the 65th Army . From July 1944 to October 1945 - the Komsomol of the 203rd artillery regiment of the 15th Infantry Division. After the end of World War II, Alexei Overchuk was an adjutant to Marshal K.K. Rokossovsky .

In 1957 he graduated from the Military-Political Academy. After her graduation, he held a number of posts in the Armed Forces of the USSR, being the head of the political organs of the formations, the army, the head of the political department of the Trans-Baikal Military District , and the head of the political department of the MV Frunze Military Academy [1] . Lieutenant General (1977).

Dismissed to the reserve in 1986.

He died on May 8, 2007 in Moscow . He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery.
