Biography

After graduating from the Faculty of Journalism of the Kazakh State University in Alma-Ata (now Al-Farabi Kazakh National University ) in 1974, he worked in regional newspapers, in the magazines "Kazakhstan Communism" and "Zhuldyz" (1974-1984), in the newspapers "Kazakh literature ”(1984-1987),“ Қазақ әдебиеті ”, in 1987-1988. He was the deputy editor-in-chief of the Zhazushi publishing house and the editorial board of the Kazakh Encyclopedia (1989-1990), worked as press secretary of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, from 1991-1997. - Consultant of the Senate Office of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.

In 1997-2001 worked at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, led the program at the National Higher School of Public Administration.

From 2001 until the end of his life, he was the head of the Institute of Literature and Art of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan .

Scientific and creative activities

Author of scientific articles and monographs "Kіsіlіk kitaby", "Yelgі dәuіrdegі қазақ әдебиетінің көркемдік жүйесі", books "Көktem tynysy", "Moldіr tұma", "Zhuregtі zhuldyzdzөz", Alaman ”,“ Symen Men Symbat ”, etc., in which a number of serious cultural, linguistic and historiographic discoveries were made.

Translated in 1986, “Kutadgu Bilik” (Russian “Graceful Knowledge”) - the medieval philosophical and ethical treatise of Yusuf Balasaguni . In 1997-1998. first translated into the Kazakh language "Collection of Turkic words" by Mahmoud al-Kashgari , which was published by the Hunt publishing house in 3 volumes.

The poetry collection of the poet "Tajazan" took part in the competition for the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of literature in 2004.
