Territory
The vast territory of the forest park is divided into two parts: one, with an area of ββabout 60 hectares, is located in the Moscow district of Mitino , the remaining part belongs to the Krasnogorsk district of the Moscow region. The park is dominated by mixed spruce-birch massifs, there are birch groves and oak forests [3] . Also in this area, dry valley and floodplain meadows and small swamps have been preserved. The length of the forest park from north to south is 6.5 km, from west to east - 5.4 km [2] .
Improvement of the park
In 2012, the Moscow City Architecture Committee announced a competition for the development of a project for the improvement of a part of Novogorsky Park in Mitino (60 ha). The project envisaged the creation of a specially protected natural area here - the landscape reserve βValley of the Gangway in Mitinoβ. As a result of the work done, drainage paths, new benches and picnic areas appeared in the park area [4] [2] . However, the changes made in the park caused discontent among local residents. In 2013, residents of the district held pickets in defense of a part of the forest, a third of which trees were cut down [5] [6] . Another reason for public activity was housing construction, which unfolded in the protected natural area of ββthe forest park - in the valley of the Shodny river. The protesters created groups in social networks where they oppose the development [2] .
Recreational opportunities
Through the forest park from Opalikha station to Novopodrezkovo there passes a tourist route of regional significance with a length of 2 km. In the northern part of the park there is a equestrian route of the equestrian base "Spartak" with a length of 4.5 km. Along the rivers Skhodnya and Goretovka paved paths for walking and sports. Earlier, beaches were built along the banks, but most of them were overgrown [5] . In winter, the park runs ski trails [7] .
In the park area in Mitin regularly hosts sporting events and social events. So, in 2015, we ran a spring mini- marathon βRun to Healthβ [8] , as well as trainings of the Mitino running club [9] . In winter, the participants of the βSkiing of Russiaβ compete in the park [7] .
