Yandex.Cassa began operations in October 2013 ^[1] .

In August 2014, together with the technology company Simtech, a service was launched to create online stores Merchium (based on CMS CS-Cart) ^[7] . By the end of the year, the cashier’s share in the Russian market for accepting Internet payments reached 18% ^[8] .

Since the end of 2015, payment acceptance has become available for organizations from Armenia , Belarus ^[9] , Georgia , Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan , Latvia ^[10] , Moldova and Tajikistan ^[11] . In the fourth quarter of 2015, 24% of sites accepted payments through Yandex.Cass, which allowed the system to become the market leader in terms of the number of sites served and bypass services that appeared earlier ^[8] .

In February 2016, Yandex.Cassa launched the Safe Deal service to increase the reliability of calculations on c2c sites, sites where individuals offer goods or services to each other ^{[12] [13]} . In November 2016, support was received for accepting payments from Mir cards , and in July of the following year, Russians were able to pay for their purchases at the AliExpress Mall of China via the Cashier ^[14] . By the end of 2016, the share of "Yandex.Cash" in the market of payment providers increased to 29.6% ^[2] .

Since January 2017, the service has become a payment operator in the 1C: Enterprise management automation system ^[15] . A year later, in February 2018, 1C added the Yandex.Cashy payment module to the 1C: Enterprise standard electronic document library, making it easier for 1.5 million commercial and budget organizations to accept payments and invoice via Yandex.Cass ^{[ 16]} .

From June 2017, Yandex.Cassa allows you to accept payments in accordance with the law on the online cash registers of the Russian Federation (54-ФЗ) ^[17] . In November 2017, Yandex.Cassa launched a new technology platform with a new API that expands the capabilities of the system and its settings by customers. A business analyst and a built-in offer system that allows marketing campaigns for sellers to appear in the Cashier ^[18] .

In November 2017, Yandex.Cassa presented the Business Market, an online showcase with preferential offers of services and services from third-party suppliers, including products for website development, CRM implementation, marketing newsletter management, accounting management, etc. ^[19] .

In March 2018, the Pay by installs service appeared in Yandex.Money - payment by installments or credit. The seller can offer the buyer different terms of loan repayment with the ability to choose the amount of the monthly payment and the maturity date. The buyer can cancel payments through Yandex.Money ^[20] .

In April 2018, Yandex.Cassa released a new m SDK for receiving payments in mobile applications ^[21] . In July of the same year, support was received for accepting payments through Apple Pay , Google Pay and Sberbank Online ^[22] .

In May 2018, Yandex.Cassa launched an antifraud system that uses machine learning to protect against fraud (payments from someone else’s card or wallet, using hacked accounts, assigning yourself bonus points, etc.), which can be used by companies who do not accept payments through the "Cashier". Previously, the system was available only to client companies and was also used to protect purses in Yandex.Money ^{[23] [6]} .

In September 2018, Yandex.Cassa conducted a rebranding ^[24] .

In October 2018, Yandex.Cassa, in partnership with Sberbank, launched B2B payments. The service allows us to simplify the acceptance of payments from corporate clients with a settlement account in Sberbank and speed up their processing. Among the first customers are HeadHunter , Ozon.Travel , MoiSklad , NetByNet ^[25] . "Ruble.ru"

In November 2018, support for WeChat Pay payments appeared ^[26] . Among the first implementations were the Citylink equipment shops and the Sheremetyevo Duty Free Heinemann duty free shops at Sheremetyevo Airport ^{[27] [28]} .

“Yandex.Cassa” makes online payments in favor of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs , charging a certain commission from the beneficiary-client.

You can accept payments through Yandex.Cass in many ways: from bank cards , through Yandex.Money and other e-wallets , through mobile applications and Internet banking of Sberbank, Alfa-Bank , Promsvyazbank and Tinkoff Bank ^[29] , from accounts mobile numbers, contactless technology Apple Pay, Google Pay, WeChat Pay ^{[22] [26]} , as well as cash through 250 thousand payment acceptance points in Russia and abroad ^[30] . When concluding an additional agreement, it is possible to connect payment acceptance from cards of American Express , JCB and Diners Club systems ^[31] .

The service has a number of specific options.

• Invoicing by SMS , e-mail, chat rooms and instant messengers. You can pay such bills by all means available in Yandex.Kassa.
• Yandeks.Kassa is able to debit a payment automatically at a specified time (auto payments).
• The ability to "bind" a credit card, which allows customers to pay without entering card details every time.
• The service supports pre-authorization - that is, freezing and subsequent withdrawal of money from the customer’s account at the store’s command. This is true for a quick refund if the buyer cancels the order or the product is not available.
• Through the service is available payment for goods or services in parts (in installments or credit) ^[20] .
• Also from the options - mass payments ^[32] , “Secure transaction”, receiving payments through chats during online consultations on the website ^[33] , receiving payments in email mailings ^[34] , receiving payments through Telegram ^[35] and Viber ^{[ 36]} .

Yandex.Cassa support the work of the stores in full compliance with the requirements of the Russian law 54-FZ (on online cash registers). The online cash register connects the store, which receives the data for the check and simultaneously sends the data to the FTS . The only requirement is to conclude an agreement with the fiscal data operator (CRF) and register your cash register at the tax office ^[37] . There is a joint solution “Yandex.Cashy” and “Business.Ru”, which allows using more than 70 models of cash registers of nine manufacturers (ATOL, Shtrih-M, Drimkas, Evotor, Countingmash, Inkoteks, Iskra Umka, Starrus) to form checks from regular store and from the online store ^[38] . A separate solution "Cashier" provides for the transfer of online checks when accepting payments in the Telegram ^[39] .

Connection

Technically integrating payment acceptance through Yandex.Cash is possible in several ways.

1. Through popular content management systems (CMS): 1C-Bitrix , OpenCart , InSales , BILLmanager, RetailCRM and more than 80 other CMS, SaaS, CRM and billing systems.
2. Through the payment form, by email protocol. It is necessary to insert the payment form code on the site, which can be obtained from the Cashier. Payment notifications will be sent via email . Suitable for businesses with a small number of orders.
3. By issuing separate invoices via email ^[40] , via QR codes ^[41] , via chat ^[33] or in instant messengers (for example, Telegram ^[35] or Viber ^[36] ). This option is suitable for companies without Internet sites ^[42] .
4. By API . This method allows you to configure the Cashier as flexibly as possible, including embedding it on a website or a mobile application, but is only suitable for experienced developers. The Cashier has a special mSDK solution for receiving payments in applications for smartphones and tablets ^[22] .

International Development

With the help of Yandex.Cashi, international companies can work on the Russian e-commerce market, accepting payments in the ways common to Russians.

The service has localized versions: Yandex.Checkout - for Western companies and Yandex. 支付 (“Yandex.Chief”) - for Chinese. Popular international online platforms like AliExpress , JD.com , Joom , Umkamall, Gearbest, TradeEase ^[43] , BlaBlaCar ^[44] , Renault , iTunes , Skype , Nintendo ^[45] , Riot Games , Wargaming , Blizzard ^[46] and others.
