Xyela variegata (lat.) Is a species of hymenopteran insects of the genus Xyela from the family of sawflies Xyelidae . Japan , Shikoku , Honshu . Small sawflies, length about 4 mm. Head yellow with brownish-black markings. False caterpillars feed on densely flowered pine ( Pinus densiflora ) [1] [2] .
