Sittas (Greek: Σίττας, died 538 ) - Byzantine military leader during the reign of Emperor Justinian I. During the war in Transcaucasia against the Sassanid Empire, Sittas received command of troops in Armenia, while the army of Commander-in-Chief Belisarius fought in Mesopotamia. He defeated the Persians at Satal.
Sitta was the husband of Komito, the elder sister of Empress Theodora , and the possible father of her daughter Sofia [1] .
In 527, he participated in hostilities in Armenia, against the backdrop of an uprising on the border with Persia, against the Shah of Kavad .
