The Supreme Court of Turkmenistan (Türkmenistanyň Ýokary kazyýeti) is the highest judicial authority in Turkmenistan, which exercises judicial supervision over the consideration of civil, arbitration, administrative and criminal cases in the manner prescribed by procedural legislation.
In addition to the Supreme Court, the judicial system in Turkmenistan includes the Arbitration Court of Turkmenistan, as well as velayat courts, courts of cities with the rights of velayat, etrap courts and courts of cities with etrap rights.
The competence, the procedure for the formation and operation of courts are determined by law.

Composition
The Supreme Court of Turkmenistan consists of the Chairperson, Vice-Chairpersons, judges, court assessors and, in addition to cases provided for by law to consider cases by a judge alone, acts as part of:
- Plenum of the Supreme Court;
- Presidium of the Supreme Court;
- Judicial board in civil matters;
- Board of Arbitration;
- Judicial Collegium for Administrative Cases;
- Judicial Collegium for Criminal Cases.
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court
The President of the Supreme Court of Turkmenistan is appointed by the President of Turkmenistan with the consent of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan for a period of 5 (five) years.
The President of the Supreme Court of Turkmenistan is a judge and, at the same time as the judge, organizes and directs the work of all courts.
