Biography
Francois Jean Marie was born on October 21, 1889 in the city of Tizi-Usou , French Algeria [3] , in the family of French colonists, father Marius Francois Divisia and mother Maria Josephine Barthet. His maternal grandfather was the oldest settler of this city [4] . In 1909 he graduated with honors from the Lyceum in Algeria [5] .
In 1909 he entered the Higher School at the Polytechnic School in Paris. In 1910, after graduating from the Polytechnic School in Paris , he entered the National School of Bridges and Roads in October 1910, where he had a supervisor of Professor [18] - 1939 [6] .
In August 1914, the Division interrupted its training, was mobilized into the French army during the First World War as a lieutenant, and in 1916 received the rank of captain, in 1917 was wounded. March 8, 1917 was demobilized [4] .
After demobilization, the division returned and completed its studies at the National School of Bridges and Roads , and received a bachelor's degree at [4] .
In 1922-1928 he was an engineer in the department of national navigation. Since 1930 he worked at the French Ministry of National Education . He was a professor at the Polytechnic School in Paris, where he became the successor to Clement Colson, at the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts in 1929-1959, and professor of economics at the National School of Bridges and Roads in 1932-1950 [6] .
The division was a member, vice president in 1931 and second president of the Econometric Society in 1935, a member and president of the Paris Statistical Society in 1939, a member of the International Econometric Society since 1933, a member of the , a member of the American Association for Development Assistance science [7] , a foreign member of the National Academy dei Linchei since 1951 [4] .
Francois Divisia died on February 6, 1964 in Paris [7] .

Francois Divisia married on September 9, 1913, Margarita Agarrat, who gave birth to the twins Denis and Francis on June 7, 1914 [4] .
