Ivan Nikolayevich Suslin ( 1846-1909 ) - Russian businessman, philanthropist and public figure, merchant of the 1st guild, Perm mayor in 1891-1893 and 1898-1905. [1] .

Biography
Ivan Nikolaevich Suslin was born in the family of the merchant of the 1st guild of Nikolai Anikeevich Suslin (1822-1875). He received his primary education at the Kotelnichevsk District School in the Vyatka province . [2] .
In Perm Suslin held the following positions:
- since 1878 - the vowel of the Perm City Duma ;
- since 1879 - an honorary member of the Perm provincial guardianship of orphanages;
- from 1881 - member of the Accounting Committee of the Perm branch of the State Bank;
- since 1882 - the vowel of the Perm district zemstvo;
- from 1881 - member of the Accounting Committee at the Perm Public Mariinsky Bank;
In 1891–1893 and 1898–1905, Ivan Nikolaevich served as the mayor of Perm. On his initiative, the construction of a water supply system was carried out in the city, lighting was carried out. He was a member of the Permian Cycling Society and, together with other patrons, donated money for the construction of the velodrome.
He was awarded the following orders and insignia:
- Order of St. Stanislav 2nd degree;
- Sign of the Red Cross ;
- two gold medals on the Stanislavsky and Anninsky ribbons for wearing around the neck.
Ivan Nikolaevich Suslin died, according to the inscription on the official list, on July 24 ( August 6 ), 1909 . He bequeathed 3,000 rubles to the city. On the initiative of the city duma, his name was given to the VIII male elementary school (later, school No. 7 was housed in this building). The grave of Suslin, located in the Necropolis of the Bishop , was destroyed in 1931.
