Biography

Childhood (1987-2002)

Alan Dawa Dolma was born July 25, 1987 in China in the city of Kandin , which is the administrative center of the Gardze-Tibet Autonomous Region in Sichuan . In accordance with Buddhist traditions, she was given a name that means "Goddess of the Moon." Alan was born into a large family of a civil servant and singer, in which there were many relatives both from her father and from her mother. She spent her childhood with relatives in Danba County, Gardze-Tibet Autonomous Region in Sichuan Province [1] . In order to calm the violent temper of the little girl, she was given to erhu classes on playing the musical instrument.

The first steps in creativity (2003-2006)

In 2003, Alan was admitted to the Academy of Arts of the People's Liberation Army of China in Beijing , where she studied vocals and erhu.

Alan recorded her first album in China in 2005. In 2006, she passed the selection among 40 thousand Chinese artists, conducted by the Japanese company Avex Trax [2] . In addition, in 2006, she represented China at the 9th Asia New Singer Competition, where she took 2nd place.

Japanese Creation Period (2007-2011)

In September 2007, Alan went to Tokyo , where she began to learn Japanese. On November 21, 2007, she released her first Japanese song, Ashita e no sanka (Anthem of Tomorrow) [3] .

On May 12, 2008, a Sichuan earthquake occurred in China that did not leave Alan indifferent. She decided to raise money for the victims of the earthquake and recorded the song “Bell of Happiness” in Japanese (Shiawase no Kane) and Chinese (Ai Jiu Shi Shou) [4] .

Alan performed songs for the large-scale Chinese historical film The Battle of the Red Cliff and performed songs at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival [5] .

In the summer of 2008, Alan released the song Natsukashii Mirai (Longing Future) for the Japanese channel NHK , which used it to raise public awareness of environmental issues, which was especially important in anticipation of the 34th G-8 summit, held in 2008 in Japan.

In 2009, the Japanese single Alan Kuon no Kawa, who was performed as the Japanese version of the song for the movie Battle of the Red Rock, was particularly successful.

Chinese Creative Period (2011 — present)

In 2011, Alan instead of a Japanese company began to collaborate with Yeehua Entertaiment and her work began to gravitate more to China, where she returned after several years of successful creativity in Japan. In 2013, with a view to a new beginning in her career, she took part in the Chinese version of the world famous talent contest X Factor . In recent years, Alan continues to record songs performed primarily in Chinese.
