Biography

Born May 21, 1953 in the Canadian city of Toronto , Ontario . She graduated from the Department of Linguistics at the University of Toronto . From 1977 to 1991 she was married, has three daughters. Then, at the age of 37, she came out as a lesbian and divorced her husband [2] . Since 2005 is in the same sex marriage [3] .

In 2003, she entered the civil service, held various positions in the government of Ontario.

In January 2013, she was elected leader of the Ontario Liberal Party. February 11, 2013 became the Prime Minister of Ontario, is the first woman in this post [4] [5] .

According to several Russian media reports, in June 2017, Caitlin Wynn initiated the adoption in Ontario of the Law on Support for Children, Youth and Families, which promotes the values ​​of the LGBT community [6] [7] [8] .

In the provincial elections in 2018, the Ontario-led Liberal Party led by C. Wynn took third place with 7 parliamentary seats and 19.57% of the vote (in the previous elections in 2014, she had 58 seats and 38.65% of the vote), and C.
