Kotor community ( Montenegrin. Opshtina Kotor ) - a community in Montenegro . The administrative center is the city of Kotor .
Geography
The community of Kotor covers an area of 335 km². It is located in the southwestern part of the country, on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. The coast of the community is partially occupied by the Bay of Kotor . Relatively flat terrain in the south, where the maximum height does not exceed 400 meters, is replaced by high mountains in the north, reaching 1700 meters in height. Lovcen Mountains are also located east of the community. The surroundings of Kotor are a major tourist center.
Population
According to the 2011 census, the population of the community is 22 601 people.
The Montenegrins (48.88% or 11047 people) are the largest in the population of the community, the next place is occupied by Serbs (30.57% or 6910 people), followed by Croats (6.87% or 1553 people). The remaining part of the population is made up of other peoples (5.07% or 1145 people) and people of unknown nationality (8.61% or 1946 people).
Most residents of the community profess Orthodoxy (93.72% or 3345 people), Catholics (11.76% or 2658 people) and Muslims (1.66% or 375 people) also live here.
