Career
Club
Alex moved from Ukraine to Canada with his family in 1998, settling in Mississauga , Ontario . He attended Jonah's Catholic school and played for the Oakville Blue Stars team before becoming a Vancouver Whitecaps player in 2007. He played with the Vancouver Whitecaps Residence team in the Premier Development League championship in 2008-2009, relegating it to the playoffs in the debut season, and in 2009 he was called up for the Vancouver Whitecaps main squad. On July 25, 2010 he made his debut in the match against the Minnesota Stars , having replaced in the 80th minute [1] .
On March 5, 2011 Semenets signed a contract with Edmonton from the 2nd division of the North American Football League [2] , renewing the contract with him on October 12, 2011 for another season [3] .
In national teams
In 2009, at the Francophonie Games, Semenets made his debut for the Canadian national team under 20 in a match against Rwanda [4] and scored the first two goals in a match [5] . Towards the end of the tournament, he shared the title of top scorer with several players, scoring a total of three goals.
