History

The Yuki clan originates from the kuge Fujiwara no Hidesato [2] .

The Yuki clan consists of two lines: Shimos Yuki and Shirakawa Yuki [2] . This separation occurred during the Nambokuto period (1336–1392). One of the branches supported the Southern Imperial Court, and the second branch - the Northern Imperial Court .

Like many samurai clans, the Yuuki clan has developed a code of regional laws (bunkoku-hō). In 1556, Yuki Masakatsu (1503–1559) published the new laws of the Yuki clan (結 城 氏 法度 Yūki-shi Hatto) [3] .

A branch of the Yuki clan from Shirakawa was destroyed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi [2] , while a branch of the Yuki clan from Shimosa was preserved as the daimyo of the Yuki Khan in Shimos province.

Members of the Shimos Yuki clan have become part of the powerful Tokugawa clan [2] .

The main vassals of the Yuki clan were samurai from the Tagay, Mizutani, Yamakave and Iwakami clans [4] .
