History
In 1699, the parishioners built a wooden church with a bell tower that was covered with iron and painted with a copper plate. In 1782, when describing the Kaluga governorship, the village belonged to Yakov Aleksandrovich Bruce. In 28 yards there were 124 male and 125 female souls. The village was located on both sides of the Black Beresna river. Also in the village was the wooden church of the Archangel Michael, on the river Lovat two flour mills of two postavy.
In 1859, the village was listed as a possessory, 38 versts from the county town of Zhizdra along the Volkhov road. In the courtyards there were 447 male and 458 female souls. In 1893, construction began on a stone church built by parishioners with money from benefactors. Construction was completed in 1897. A stone fence was built around the church. The church owned the stone building of the parish school and a wooden gatehouse. The consecration of the church took place on October 19, 1903.
