It occupies a vast territory, located on two banks of the Svisloch from Ulyanovsk Street to the Minsk Concert Hall , it is limited between two bridges across the Svisloch - Nizhnelyakhovsky and connecting the banks of Lenin Street , adjacent to the walls of the Crystal plant .

The square got its modern name in 1995 during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War . In 2010, during the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Victory, a stone was laid with inscriptions in Belarusian and English on the name of the square. In the future, it is planned to put a memorial sign on this place [2] .
