The community of Kolasin ( Montenegrin. Opshtina Kolasin ) is a community in Montenegro . The administrative center is the city of Kolasin .
Geography
The Kolasin community covers an area of 897 square kilometers. It is located in the central part of Montenegro. Most of the community is occupied by mountains, such as Sinyaevina, Belasitsa, Komova and Vucha. The Tara and Moracha rivers flow through the community, in the valleys of which the majority of the population lives. In the community, the Biogradska Gora National Park is partially located, attracting many tourists.
Population
According to the 2011 census, the population of the community is 8,380.
The Montenegrins (57.42% or 4812 people) are the largest in the community population, followed by Serbs (35.75% or 2996 people). The remaining part of the population is made up of other peoples (2.97% or 249 people) and people of unknown nationality (3.85% or 323 people).
The vast majority of those living in the community profess Orthodoxy (93.02% or 7795 people).
