Biography
9-year-old Raisa O'Farrill started volleyball in her hometown under the guidance of coach Alfredo Perez Camacho. She performed in various junior competitions, and in the late 1980s was accepted into the team “Villa Clara”, for which she played throughout her sports career.
In official competitions in the Cuban national team, Raisa O'Farrill made her debut in 1992, and immediately at the Olympic Games , where she won her first "gold". Subsequently, the volleyball player played for the national team for 8 years (intermittently) and won 11 highest-ranking medals, including two Olympic medals (in 1992 and 1996 ) and one for winning the 1994 World Cup , where the Cuban team did not give its rivals not a single party.
In 2000, after a three-year hiatus, Raisa O'Farrill was again included in her team and won the Grand Prix gold medals with her, but did not get into the Olympic application, after which she ended her playing career. Currently lives in Havana , works as a children's coach.
