Economics
In 1934, a plant for processing gold ore mined in the vicinity of the village was built in the village [3] .
The gold dump was closed in 1999 , after which half of the population left due to lack of work. Currently, residents of the New and Old Berikul live off livestock, various forestry, and fishing [4] .
