Olsztyn culture was part of the circle of West Baltic cultures . The villages of this culture appeared from the V century BC. e., and developed in the VI-VII centuries. n e. on the territory of Masurian Lake District , in a small part of the Velbar culture region, as well as in the territories where the villages of the Bogachev culture previously appeared.
Funeral Rite
- rite of cremation: pit or ash;
- Under the graves of men (warriors) were buried horses;
- the most famous cemeteries are the Tumans and Kelars;
- window urns: urns with rectangular or round openings simulating windows (reflect contacts with saxes ).
Inventory
- silver or gilded, richly decorated plate hair pins;
- bronze or gilt silver buckles ;
- the most famous belt buckle found in a cemetery in Kosevo near Mragowo .
External contacts can be traced, which are expressed by the wealth of metal objects, jewelry and parts of costumes belonging to a wide range of German culture.
