Mikhail Alexandrovich Makhov (born October 21, 1931 , the village of Makhovo, Yaransky District , Kirov Region ) is a Soviet and Russian athletics coach . Honored Trainer of the RSFSR , Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation [1] [2] .

Biography
Born in the village of Makhovo, Kirov Region in 1931. Father - Alexander Efimovich (1902–42) died in the battle of Stalingrad , mother — Raisa Ivanovna (1904–70) was a housewife. The ancestors of Mikhail Alexandrovich were merchants [3] .
Since 1952 he worked in Sverdlovsk at the school as a physical education teacher. In 1957, after graduating from the Omsk Institute of Physical Culture, he joined the Ural Polytechnic Institute (UPI) at the Department of Physical Education. In 1959 he transferred to the Sverdlovsk Pedagogical Institute , where he continues to work to this day.
Over the years of work in the coaching field, Mikhail Alexandrovich raised many outstanding athletes: among them, international-class masters of sports Lyudmila Rizvanova, Tatyana Mishkel, Oleg Kulkov ; Masters of Sports Vladimir Poshekhonov, Nasima Gimatova, Valery Sergienko, Taisiya Popova, Valery Zakirov, Sergey Kostromin, Lyudmila Chernyshova, Natalya Shipilova. Also Makhov M.A. was the first coach of the honored master of sports of the Soviet Union and Olympic champion Lyudmila Bragin in the 1,500-meter run (Munich Olympics in 1972).
He also participated in the organization and conduct of athletics competitions at various levels, for which he was awarded the title of “Judge of the Republican Category” in athletics.
He was awarded the medal of the Order " For Merit to the Fatherland ", II degree, the honorary badge "For Merit in the Development of Physical Culture and Sports" [1] .
Now he is a professor at the Department of Physical Education at the Ural State Pedagogical University [3] .
