Theodorite (Tikhonov)

Born on November 21, 1980 in the village of Oktyabrsky, Skopinsky District, Ryazan Region (now within the city of Skopin).

From the age of 11 he began to serve at the altar, as well as sing and read on the choir . In 1998, after graduation, he entered the Ryazan Orthodox Theological School , which he graduated in 2002.

In 2002-2005, he studied at the Moscow Theological Seminary, after which he entered the Moscow Theological Academy.

In November 2006 he was sent to study in France . He studied at the graduate school of the Practical School of Higher Studies (École Pratique des Hautes Études) in Paris . In 2009, having received a master’s degree, he returned to the Moscow Theological Academy, where he combined external studies with teaching. He taught Latin and French from 2009 to 2016.

March 16, 2010 in the Trinity Cathedral of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, Archbishop Vereisky Eugene (Reshetnikov) was tonsured a monk with the name Theodorite in honor of the holy martyr Theodorite, presbyter of Antioch ^[1] .

On April 1, 2010, he was ordained a hierodeacon , and on February 15, 2012, he was ordained a hieromonk . The tonsure and ordination was performed by the rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, chairman of the Educational Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church, Archbishop Evgeny Vereisky (Reshetnikov) .

In 2010 he graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy, defending a Ph.D. thesis.

In 2012-2016 he studied at the Faculty of Religious Studies at the Moscow Orthodox Institute of St. John the Evangelist .

Bishops

On July 29, 2017, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church was elected to be ordained bishop of Skopinsky and Shatsky ^[2] .

On August 8, 2017, Metropolitan Barsanuphius of St. Petersburg in the Church of All Saints, who shone in the Russian land, the patriarchal and synodal residence of the Danilov Monastery in Moscow, was elevated to the rank of archimandrite ^[3] .

On August 18, 2017 he was named bishop in the Church of the Praise of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Constantine-Eleninsky Convent of the St. Petersburg Diocese ^[4] .

On August 19, 2017, on the Cathedral Square of the city of Vyborg , his episcopal consecration took place, performed by: Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, Archbishop of Karelia and all Finland, Leo (Makkonen) ( Finland Orthodox Church ), Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga Barsanuphius (Sudakov), Metropolitan of Novgorod and Starorussky Leo (Tserpitsky) , Metropolitan of Ryazan and Mikhailovsky Mark (Golovkov) , Metropolitan of Vologda and Kirillovsky Ignatius (Deputies) , Archbishop of Peterhof Ambrose (Ermakov) , Archbishop of Solnechno Gorsky Sergius (Chashin) , Bishop Arseny of Joensuu (Heikkinen) (Finnish Orthodox Church), Bishop of Vyborg and Priozersky Ignatius (Punin) , Bishop of Tsarskoye Selo Markell (Vetrov) , Bishop of Kronstadt Nazarii (Lavrinenko) , Kasimov Iasipov , Kasim Dasip , Iasipasasasasasasasasasasasas Bishop of Tikhvin and Lodeinopolsky Mstislav (Dyachina) , Bishop of Gatchina and Luga Mitrofan (Osyak) , Bishop of Bogorodsky Matthew (Andreev) ^[5] .

July 9, 2019 appointed rector of the Ryazan Theological Seminary ^[6] .
