Elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region (2016)

The elections of deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region of the sixth convocation were held in the Leningrad Region on September 18, 2016 on a single voting day , simultaneously with the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation . The elections were held according to a mixed electoral system : out of 50 deputies, 25 were elected by party lists ( proportional system ), the remaining 25 [1] - in single-mandate constituencies ( majority system ). In order to get into the legislative assembly according to the proportional system, the parties must overcome the 5% barrier . The term of office of deputies is five years.

Key Dates

  • On June 14, the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region scheduled the elections on September 18, 2016 (single voting day). [3]
