Biography
The son of a famous journalist, early lost his father. He studied law, but did not graduate from a university course. For many years he collaborated with Mario Monicelli , with whom he directed comedies with Toto . After parting with Monicelli, he continued to make comedies with Toto , as well as with Alberto Sordi .
He chose a pseudonym in honor of the writer and journalist Flavia Steno (1877-1946), whose humorous prose was extremely popular in Italy in the first half of the 20th century.
