Gulliver Yard

The first work of the architect’s creative team was the Gulliver residential yard in 2nd Krasnodonsky Lane, created in 1982-1983. In the courtyard was a fountain surrounded by sculptures of giant playing cards, later replaced by a flowerbed. Sculptures in the summer tinted. The slide for the children was made in the form of a giant chair.

Sculptural and decorative cabinets

In the area of the Krasnaya Gorka residential complex, billboard stands were created on top of which sculptures were installed: Harlequin, City, Musician, etc. In the 1990s, two soldiers tried to turn over the sculptures to a non-ferrous metal reception center, since they were made of copper. The figures were found cut into pieces and rumpled. After this incident, the sculptures were created anew, but from ferrous metal.

Removal of workshop premises

In 2006, the staff of the workshop “Krasnaya Gorka” was forced to leave the premises, which took 25 years (it belonged to the plant), and there was no money to buy the old building. Subsequently, the structure stood empty and gradually collapsed. Tatyana Arbatskaya, the wife of the architect, said that this fact caused the deterioration in the health of her husband.

Territory decoration near the Globus Theater

After holding a creative competition in 2004 to create a monument to Vladimir Vysotsky in the park near the Globus Theater, Gennady Arbatsky made an architectural and artistic decision at its location [3] .

Puppet Theater Panel

In addition to the architect’s work for the Krasnaya Gorka residential complex, Gennady Arbatsky created several panels for the Novosibirsk Regional Puppet Theater . The panel “Alice in Wonderland” is located in the theater's fairy tales room, the panel “City and its inhabitants” is in the lobby of the institution. The works were created with a group of artists consisting of ceramist Alyona Zalutskaya, woodwork Yuri Pavlov, metalwork Vsevolod Pikulik.

Gennady Arbatsky was not only an architect, but also an artist. In January 2017, an exhibition was held at the Novosibirsk Art Museum , at which his abstract works created in 2013 were presented.
