Biography
Born in the family of Ivan Trush and Ariadne (Rada) Drahomanova. Roman had a sister Ariadne and brother Miron , who also became an athlete (archery), the world champion in the Polish team [1] . Since childhood, Roman was fond of playing football, tennis and hockey (together with his brother he played for the team of the sports society "Ukraine") [2] [3] . In the early 1930s he became interested in archery.
In September 1931, the International Archery Federation was created in Lviv , where the Trush brothers began to practice.
In October 1937, as part of the Lviv national team, together with their elder brother Miron, they became the winners of the Polish championship, got the right to go to the World Cup in Paris . Only Miron was able to go there from the brothers, from where he brought a gold medal.
Together with Mikhail Blinda, Taras Bandera (nephew of Stepan Bandera ), Andrey Gavrishkiev organized the tournament "Carpathian Arrow", which was held in 1960-1987 in Borislav .
Among his students: Tatyana Obraztsova, Nonna Kozina - world champions; Vasily Bobko, Vanda Kopachinskaya [4] , Vadim Lomov, Yuri Timergazin, Lyudmila Snisarenko - winners of international competitions, champions and champions of the Ukrainian SSR, USSR (in the early 1960s).
