Biography

Came from an aristocratic family. He was the court of King Charles X. After the overthrow of the king by the July Revolution of 1830 , Gugeno de Mousseau, as a true monarchist, refused to recognize the legitimacy of the “citizen king” Louis Philippe I , a representative of the Orleans branch of the royal dynasty, and retired to private life, where he devoted himself to research, primarily magic and esotericism . Collaborated with Chevalier Drach .

He was married to the aristocrat Marie-Elisabeth-Constance Gossey de Pontalery.

Compositions

"Jew, Judaism, and Judaization of Christian Peoples"

Gugeno de Mousseau's essay, “The Jew, Judaism, and Judaization of the Christian Peoples” (Paris, 1869), was the first to speak of the antisocial mission of Jewry , against the backdrop of a dominant - in the author's opinion - position that Jews have managed to conquer in Christian states since Christians had the imprudence to make Jews equal citizens. The most characteristic feature of a Jew, according to Gugeno de Mousseau, is the need for domination over other nations, a need that draws its roots in the pride of the Jewish national instincts. Nevertheless, Gugeno de Mousseau, like Bossuet , considers the Jews “the chosen people, the most noble and most sacred of the peoples ”, but the Jews, in his opinion, have long since deviated from the Mosaic Law : the latter completely gave way to the Talmud , which it inspired universal hatred of the Jews. Gugeno de Mousseau develops the idea that the historical mission , which fell to the lot of the chosen people, should in the end be carried out by Christianity, which replaced Jewishness. [four]

Alfred Rosenberg , the future Reichsleiter of the Nazi party, translated his work into German [5] . Gugeno de Musso appears in the novel Prague Cemetery (2010) by the Italian writer Umberto Eco .

In the German translation of Rosenberg (Der Jude, das Judentum und die Verjudung den christlichen Völker; 1921), the word "Judaization" was replaced by the German word "Vernichtung" ("destruction"; "extermination") [5] .

The work of Gugeno de Mousseau was assessed as “anti-Semitic,” and the author himself as “ clerical and obscurantist reactionary ,” in particular by the Russian publicist in exile Vl. Burtsev in his publication “ Protocols of the Zion of the Wise Men - a proven forgery” (Paris, 1938) [6] .

It was not translated into Russian.
