Biography

He was born in the city of Nikolaev of the Kherson province of the Russian Empire in a working class family. Ukrainian .

In 1931 he entered the school of FZU at the Nikolaev shipbuilding plant named after A. Marty, after which he was accepted to the plant as a fitter (from December 1936 - plant number 198 named after A. Marty). In 1941 he was transferred to the plant number 201 of the People’s Commissariat of the shipbuilding industry ( Sevastopol ).

With the beginning of World War II, the plant was evacuated to the cities of Tuapse and Poti . Working as a fitter of the 5th category of workshop No. 4 of factory No. 201, he was a qualified specialist in the repair of the bilge of submarines . Especially distinguished during the re-installation of submarines M-30, M-114, M-115, M-116, who arrived from the Pacific Fleet .

In 1946 he returned to Nikolaev. Prior to retirement, he headed the team of fitters of the plant No. 444 (since 1956 - the Nikolaev shipbuilding plant named after I. I. Nosenko, since 1968 - the Black Sea shipbuilding plant ). The team under his leadership carried out installation of complex special devices and hold equipment.

Rewards

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of July 25, 1966 for outstanding services in fulfilling the plan of 1959-1965 and the creation of new technology, Chornozub Ivan Ivanovich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Sickle and Hammer medal (No. 11820).

He was awarded two Orders of Lenin (09.24.1954, 07.25.1966), orders of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree (09.11.1944), the Red Banner of Labor (02.10.1950), "Badge of Honor" (04/26/1971) and medals.

Honorary Citizen of Nikolaev.
