Mikhail Gavrilovich Martyshenko (born October 23, 1912 - August 27, 1997) is a Soviet fighter pilot and ace of World War II .

Biography
He was born on October 23, 1912 in the Cossack village Upornaya in the present Krasnodar Territory . In 1929, he received a diploma from a vocational school in Labinsk , and then took two-year courses at a technical school in Krasnodar . He joined the Red Army on May 10, 1931. He was sent to Yeysk to the school of naval aviation. November 6, 1939 became a pilot, received a diploma and the rank of lieutenant.
In June 1941, he took part in the first battles during the invasion of Nazi Germany in the Soviet Union . July 24 shot down a ram in the air Junkers Ju 88 . He repeated this feat three months later, in October, and defeated the Messerschmitt Bf 109 with a ram. For the first of these exploits, he received the Order of Lenin and an article about himself in Pravda dated August 17, 1941.
After the war he lived and worked in Taganrog at an aircraft manufacturing plant.
Awards and Achievements
He gained 18 victories, two of them - a battering ram, having completed 285 sorties.
This achievement is disputed by Mikhail Bykov, who ascribes to him 7 victories, including 5 individual and 2 in collaboration.
