Until 2014, he bore the name of his father - Umerbekov, then he took the name of his mother - Stalnov.
He came to cycling at the age of 13. In 2012-2016 he played for the continental team Continental Team Astana.
In 2017, he made his debut as a racer of the World Tour Astana Pro Team .
