Sivtsov, Vladimir Ivanovich

Vladimir Ivanovich Sivtsov (born February 25, 1937 , Smolensk ) is a Soviet and Belarusian athletics coach . Honored Trainer of the BSSR (1981).

Biography

Vladimir Ivanovich Sivtsov was born on February 25, 1937 in Smolensk. In his youth, he trained under the leadership of Evgeny Mikhailovich Shukevich .

In 1956, after graduation, he entered the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Belarusian State University . After studying there for a year, he transferred to the geographical, and then to the physical education faculty, which he graduated in 1961.

For 30 years he worked as a head coach of the Belsovet and the club "Labor Reserves" (until 2000). He was the first director of the Minsk Sports School [1] . Then he worked at the Republican School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics of the Ministry of Education [2] . He was a senior coach of the Belarus throwing team.

Repeatedly entered the list of the best trainers of the year in Belarus [3] [4] .

The highest results among the pupils of Sivtsov achieved:

  • Irina Yatchenko - world champion in 2003, bronze medalist of the 2000 Olympics [5] ,
  • Andrey Mikhnevich - world champion in 2003 [5] ,
  • Vasily Kaptyukh - bronze medalist of the 1996 Olympic Games and the 1995 and 2003 World Championships [5] ,
  • Alexander Malashevich - champion of Europe among youth of 1999,
  • Mikhail Domorosov - bronze medalist of the 1981 USSR Championship.

Awards and titles

  • Honorary title " Honored Trainer of the BSSR " (1981).
  • Medal for Labor Merit (2012) [6]
