SpreadThey are found in Western, Central and Southern Europe , the Caucasus, the Crimea and Turkey [1] [2] .
DescriptionSmall ants (working less than 5 mm). Body color is brownish-black with thick silver hair. Scape and hind tibia without numerous distal hairs. The antennae of females and workers are 12-segmented; in males, they consist of 13 segments. The mandibles are triangular with 5-7 teeth on the chewing edge. The mandibular palpi consists of 6 segments, and the lower part of the maxillary are of 4. The stalk is between the chest and the abdomen is single-segment ( petiol ) with a vertical scale [1] [2] [3] .
